National strategy study for the transport of dangerous goods by rail

Scope of the project
Support in the design of a strategy study for the rail transport of dangerous goods in Spain.
Achievements
At first, the overall situation of rail transport of dangerous goods in selected European countries was analyzed and a selection of measures for the development of efficient infrastructure was presented (e.g. principles for the allocation of state investment aid). Afterwards suitable solutions for the transport of dangerous goods by rail, including an overview of procedures for avoiding/mitigating risks were drawn up. TransCare concluded the project with concrete recommendations for the planning and operation of dangerous goods terminals.
