TransCare organizes the 1st GCC Logistics Conference in Bahrain
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) area is a highly attractive loca-tion for logistics service providers
The Wiesbaden-based management consultancy TransCare GmbH will organize the 1st GCC Logistics Conference “Costs and Challenges” in Bahrain on March 30th and 31st, 2016. The conference aims to strengthen the rapidly growing transportation and logistics market in the Kingdom and is supported by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB).
Bahrain has the shortest routes for cargo distribution within the Gulf States, in particular to Saudi Arabia. Now that border crossing issues for trucks have been overcome, the booming markets in Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia can be reached by truck within 24 hours. This has led to significant growth in Bahrain’s transport and logistics sector. Numerous companies are currently considering the establishment or the expansion of activities in the Gulf State.
“Bahrain has recently liberalized the entire transportation and logistics market, everyone can invest here without restrictions,” points out TransCare founder and CEO Ralf Jahncke, who is currently responsible for the logistics market development on behalf of the Government of Bahrain. That turns the Gulf state into a highly attractive location for logistics service providers. The conference addresses top managers and shareholders planning to establish or to expand their business in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) area.
During the two days of the conference, national and international executives of well-known manufacturers, retailers and logistics service providers, as well as representatives of ministries and of the education sector shall discuss the development of logistics markets in the GCC states of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. The discussion in the six conference panels will focus on topics currently under discussion in the Middle East. “Transportation and logistics represent some of Bahrain’s key industry sectors, therefore EDB fully supports the 1st GCC Logistics Conference organized by TransCare,” says EDB CEO Khalid Amro Al Rumaihi.
The conference will be held at the Ritz Carlton in Manama just prior to the “Grand Prix of Bahrain” Formula 1 race.
